MCM Expandable Dining Table (after Paul Laszlo) | Refinished in a french polish. I used 50/50 cut shellac, padded on in extremely thin successive layers over the course of a week. This was my first experience french polishing. I decided to sand this down to the bare wood and veneer due to significant damage, water staining, and yellowing of the previous finish. (Piece inherited from my great-aunt).

Steel Dental Chair | This chair was in bad shape. It was originally finished in white enamel, and had been painted several times since then. It was sitting outside for several years, so the legs showed severe rusting and pitting. I chemically stripped the paint, ground out the rust and some pitting, then took this chair up to a satin finish, and finished sanding by hand. Finally, it is buffed with paste wax. (Piece passed from my godmother to my mother to me).

MCM Bamboo Lounge Chairs (x2) | Refinished with 100% pure tung oil. These chairs showed significant water damage to original finish and black mildew stains. Sanded to bare wood, bleached out mildew stains, and finished with successive coats of tung oil. (Piece passed from my godmother to my mother to me).

Mid-20th Century Cantilevered Chair | Polished & Reupholstered. The chair was in pieces with significant rusting of the chrome. I reconstructed a base, upholstery foam, and vinyl from scratch for the seat and back panel, as the original was too damaged to use. (Piece inherited from my mother).

Veneer Buffet | Refinished with polyurethane. This piece was heavily water damaged, and the original stain had turned the veneer muddy and green. I scraped and sanded the veneered top, bleached out as much of the black water stains I could, and wiped on several layers of poly. Additionally, I patched some areas of veneer damage and hand-painted to match grain. I finished the rest of the piece with wax. (Piece inherited from my father).

Vintage Adjustable Piano Stool | Refinished & reupholstered. This was missing its original upholstery fabric, and the padding was too heavily damaged to use.

Instrument | Hand-made instrument based on a Kalimba (tuned percussion) that locks your hands in as you play. Birch plywood, danish oil.
